Houses In Suburb At Summer In Canada

Only properties located in the City of Vancouver may be required to declare and pay the
Vacancy Tax.

Properties located anywhere in British Columbia (BC), including Vancouver,
may also be required to declare and pay the
Speculation and Vacancy Tax.

Therefore, properties in Vancouver may require two separate declarations:
one for the City Vacancy Tax and another for the
BC Speculation Tax.
In addition, Vancouver property owners pay property tax twice a year.

The following chart shows the annual declaration and payment schedule
for the Vacancy Tax, Speculation Tax, and property taxes:

Vacancy Tax Deadline:

The declaration deadline for the Vancouver Vacancy Tax is
February 2 each year.

Homeowners who submit their declarations after this date may face
significant financial penalties.

The deadline is approaching — to avoid fines, please complete your
Vacancy Tax declaration as soon as possible.

Speculation Tax, please contact us for professional advice.
